Il tema del concorso riguardava la rigenerazione urbana di un'area di 60.000mq nella periferia di Chieri, vicino alla stazione dei treni e degli autobus. In quest'area ci sono molti edifici e capannoni industriali per la maggior parte abbandonati o utilizzati per incontri dalle associazioni.
Il concorso prevedeva come primo passaggio la scelta delle funzioni per i nuovi edifici. Per urbanizzare l'area sono stati collocati edifici residenziali giustificati dal costante incremento demografico della cittadina negli ultimi decenni. Le altre funzioni scelte sono un auditorum, poichè la città non possiede uno spazio pubblico per concerti e spettacoli, un orto botanico per sottoineare la relazione con la tradizione agricola della cittadina e con il vicino consorzio agricolo; infine degli spazi di co-working per migliorare il lavoro delle giovani imprese locali. Comunque gli spazi per le associazioni sono stati mantenuti nell'area.
Tutti gli edifici sono stati progettati in modo da rispettare gli standard più elevati di casa passiva, sia per quanto riguarda l'involucro opaco che per quello trasparente. Tutti gli edifici sono rivestiti di mattoni rossi a faccia vista per uniformare l'intero complesso architettonico.

To urbanize the area, residential buildings were located because of the constant population increase of the city in the last years. The first floor of the new residential buildings offers commercial spaces, to fit the need of old and new residents. The other functions included in the area are: an auditorium, because in the city there aren’t space for public performances and concerts, a botanical garden, to underline the relationship with the fields around the city and with the nearby agricultural consortium and co-working spaces to encourage local young companies. Moreover spaces for associations are maintained in the area.
