In Ragusa Ibla architecture and landscape fuse together, generating the strong identity of places.
The staircase of market is an urban space composed by the market, the stairs and the abandoned buildings surrounding it. The circumstance to transform two of them in a receptive complex, an holiday residence, carried us to a respectful planning of recovery.
Volumes were not modified, interiors instead were rethinked in order to allow an authentic communication of all their original features: wood, pitch and the calcareous stone. This is the material that in the past permits the building of architectures that make Ragusa Ibla's landscape unique.
Architecture is interpreted as a work of conservation not self-referenced, studied to be mimetic and proposed as a complementary instrument in the discovery of places and their soul.
